First Some Geography!!!
Handmade Ecuadorian
Jewellery, that makes a difference.
Whilst their men risk their lives on the
dangerous pacific ocean catching fish for a very low
income, the women, mothers and wives of the nature
reserve, produce jewellery from seeds and coconut shells
to sell to tourists that venture out into the
reserve or
in the
local tourist destinations of Esmeraldas or Atacemes.
With
their current equipment it takes
them currently 2 days to make a necklace which they sell
locally for just a couple of dollars.
Here
are
some pics of examples of their work, the pieces are made
from seeds that grow naturally in the rainforests such
as Tagua, Jaboncillo, Caraca Rojo and Coconunt Shells.
